From Grief to Good Works: Patricia and Ryan’s Story

Ryan and Patricia

Ryan and Patricia

No parent should outlive a child, but it happened to Patricia Rivette—suddenly and sadly—when she lost her son Ryan at age 34.

Ryan was a warm-hearted young man with autism who found support and understanding at The Arc San Francisco, a steppingstone to a full life with work, sports (49ers!) and the friendship that so often eludes individuals with disabilities.

Patricia decided that the best way to continue honoring her son’s life was to make a planned gift to The Arc SF. At age 70½, she learned she could make a lasting impact every year without tax, directing more resources to the activities and opportunities Ryan enjoyed as an Arc participant.

2023’s new tax laws may make it easier for you to make a difference at the organizations you care about. Please contact Esther Landau at (415) 918-7343 or elandau@thearcsf.org to learn more.
